Have you ever experienced it? That persistent tug from the universe, urging you to chase after something bigger, more meaningful? It’s a sensation I’ve come to know as “The Pull.” It’s that inner voice telling you that you’re meant for greater things, pushing you to embrace your full potential. Do you have this same feeling? Do you find yourself ignoring it because you have no idea how to handle it? But how do you navigate this feeling? Does it keep popping up? Yup, that was my feeling too. I am figuring out how to navigate it, and I wanted to walk you through that.
For the longest time, I brushed off “The Pull” as mere restlessness, a side effect of my ADHD. Yet, deep down, I knew it was more than that. It was a call to action, a reminder that I was capable of so much more. So, I decided to lean into it, to explore where it might lead.
I discovered my passion for website design, a field where creativity knows no bounds. Each day, I devote time working on my business, creating blog posts, creating designs for Pinterest, and so on. I do this for at least 15 minutes each day, but most days are more. Some days this is watching a quick YouTube video because I don’t have the creativity, but some days I am so creative that I pump out a bunch of content. Even on the toughest days, when self-doubt creeps in, I push through. I’ve learned to acknowledge those negative thoughts without letting them hold me back. Listen to what goes on in your mind that day, and then I tell myself this “When ___ started (insert the person or business you are comparing yourself to) they didn’t know everything either. What they DID do, was to keep going.” And that’s what I am going to do. I am going to get better every day, and the journey is the best part.
Maintaining focus hasn’t been easy, but I’ve developed strategies to stay on track. Each morning, I jot down 2-3 tasks to accomplish for the day, ensuring I make progress, no matter how small. I’ve learned to silence the inner critic, reminding myself of my strengths and embracing imperfection as part of the journey.
So, if you’re feeling “The Pull,” don’t ignore it. Embrace it. Take small steps each day towards your dreams, knowing that progress is built on consistency, not perfection. Trust in yourself and your abilities, and soon enough, you’ll find yourself moving closer to your aspirations.
